The Pathways for People Day Program is located in a 15,000 square foot facility in Cary, NC that houses a music room, art room, yoga/dance space, a central meeting space, a relaxation room, and more. The day program is intended for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, and participants attend using Day Supports (Group & Individual) through the Innovations Waiver. Private pay is also accepted.
Our program enables adults to participate in structured group based programs that nurture new skills through art, technology, therapeutic movement (dance, yoga, etc.), and other activities. We are currently offering music, art, photography, life skills, yoga, dance, social skills, vocational training, sign language, drama, and other classes with an emphasis on developing motor skills, attention span, task completion, and attendance.
Groups sizes vary and a full day consists of 7 periods (1 of which is lunch) that are 45 minutes long. A wide variety of methods are used to teach with the focus on finding how each individual learns best. All of our instructors have experience working with individuals with special needs as well as the respective courses they are teaching.
Mon. - Fri. from 9:00am – 3:00pm.
The first class starts at 9:15 and participants should be picked up by 3:15. Individuals may attend the program for the full day or choose to come from 9am – 12:30pm or from 11:45 – 3:00pm if they want to do partial days. They can also pick specific days to attend if they do not want to attend five days a week. Participants are responsible for bringing their own lunch. Refrigerator space and cubbies are available to store their lunch and personal items. Microwaves are also available.
